Badger Common’Tater
“The Voice of the Wisconsin Potato & Vegetable Industry” is the Wisconsin Potato & Vegetable Growers Association’s monthly trade publication, The Badger Common’Tater.
Established in 1948, The Badger Common’Tater remains one of the most important informational and educational tools of the Wisconsin Potato & Vegetable Growers Association. The Common’Tater also serves as a promotional vehicle for the potato industry and generates non-dues-related revenue that supports WPVGA’s grower-member programs throughout the year.
A monthly circulation of 4,000 issues is mailed to subscribers. November’s Annual Seed Issue boasts an increased circulation of over 10,000. It is mailed to virtually every potato grower in the United States and includes distribution to industry partners in all 50 states and eight foreign countries.
Regular monthly features of the magazine include in-depth interviews with industry leaders, and research articles from University of Wisconsin scientists, as well as experts from other potato-producing states. Also included in each edition are details on industry marketing and promotional efforts, interviews with WPVGA members, features on innovative products and technological advances, seasonal statistical reports and updates, delicious potato recipes, and an Association calendar of events.
Monthly editorial content covers industry topics that include planting, harvesting, food safety issues, storage, marketing, processing, the environment, supplies, and equipment.
